Accoya Windows fit the bill for a Derbyshire building project
In early 2015 we were visited by Mrs. Snooks, she was in the midst of her new build project and needed a joinery company that could provide the total joinery package including bespoke Accoya windows. We were referred to Mrs. Snooks by tradesman working for her and a neighbouring project. Located in the desirable village of Quarndon she was focused on getting high performing products that will also add character to their property.
As the project was a complete rebuild Steph had freedom of design and the opportunity to get things right first time, this meant the specification needed to be tailored to her and her family’s requirements. We worked closely with Steph to design products that ticked all of the boxes. She was adamant that the bespoke Accoya windows and doors needed to have good thermal efficiency whilst maintaining the traditional look she desired; and all without breaking the bank. A few features the project consisted of were noise reducing glass to all of the windows and doors facing the road. Steph was also keen to have a pre-antiqued, rectangular leads to the front elevation for added character. We gave Steph the freedom to find the perfect colour to compliment her natural stone bays as we offer full paint matching services.
I built Chestnut House in 2015/2016. It was to be the dream family forever home and after carefully researching a number of companies I chose Gowercroft to undertake the project making our bespoke Accoya windows, doors and various other timber elements.
I liked the fact they were based locally and that it is a family business. As a property developer by trade I knew exactly how I wanted things to look and attention to detail was of great importance. I took a tour of the workshop and was impressed by what I saw.
Gowercroft handled the job in a friendly, professional manner and offered the bespoke design service I was looking for as well as a high end finish. The fitting service was all undertaken by employees, not subcontractors, who were courteous and good at their jobs.
Steph is experienced in property design and renovation, her eye for design and knowledge of the industry allowed her to get the most out of her build. Every aspect was carefully considered to ensure the best end result. Along with all of the bespoke Accoya windows and doors, we also manufactured two large Bi-Folding doors to the rear of the property; these Bi-Folding doors slide in a concertina motion to one side opening up the whole space. These are a great way to make the most of the warm weather blurring the lines between inside and outside living.
Steph had spent a lot of time and money on a particular roof tile, and as such she wanted something extra special to accompany this. We designed enhanced fascia and barge boards for the whole house, manufactured from high quality Accoya and fully factory finished to match the quality and longevity of the bespoke Accoya windows and doors.
We needed large Bi-Fold doors to cover 5.5m by 2.4m openings and I was determined these would be made in timber. To gain the required stability we chose to use Accoya – it’s worth every penny. Not only does it give a low carbon footprint – the windows will probably outlive me – but 18 months on they still look brand new and are easy to operate – it’s an incredibly durable and stable product. We also used it for the windows and bargeboards and are looking forward to many years of zero maintenance except for keeping them clean! The paint finish is of extremely high quality and I’m sure will last for many more years to come and there is the option to dual colour – not offered by many companies.
Whatever your requirements are, be they contemporary or traditional, Gowercroft will tailor a package to suit your project. As a further endorsement I have recommended Gowercroft to many others and will be commissioning them shortly for the next big build…. another forever home!!
