This charming new build property near Derby featured traditional sliding sash windows to compliment it’s traditional looks. Gowercroft were chosen to supply the joinery as their marriage of modern day performance to classical styling were exactly what the project managers were looking for.
The main feature of this home is the orangery and roof lantern to the rear. This unique addition needed the seamless integration between the main structure and the windows, doors and roof light to ensure it matched the faultless quality of the rest of the building.
The structure was constructed from ethically sourced hardwood and finished in in our paintshop, as were the rest of the windows and doors. There were also canopies with elegant supports also made to match.
With such a traditional property such as Orchard Grove, sliding sash windows were a great choice! The combination of ‘olde style’ windows with the older vertical opening system harks back to bygone times. However, with modern construction techniques and vastly superior double glazing, the similarity to Victorian ere technology definitely ends there. It’s expected the these new windows and doors will last for anything up to 60 – 70 years with only the bare minimum of maintenance.
Our Chatsworth range of sliding sash windows offer unrivalled performance. With seamless ventilation and hidden spiral balances they appear to be truly traditional. The glazing A+ rated and the seals are the only Class 4 Air Permeability product of this type on the market currently.
