Heritage Yorkshire Sliding Sash Windows
Horizontal Sliding Sash windows are similar to their more common Vertical Sliding Sash windows, but the sashes slide side-to-side, rather than up-and-down. These windows were traditionally used in workers’ cottages because they match the proportions of the buildings and were less expensive to produce. These windows are most common in the North of the country and are often referred to as Yorkshire Sliding Sash windows or Yorkshire Sliders for this reason. In most buildings, these windows have been replaced with flush casement windows due to their improved draught-proofing, but we regularly manufacture these windows for Conservation areas and Listed Properties.

- Slender 18mm glazing bars and thin profile of the windows reduce the perceived width of the sections. External bar designed to replicate the traditional appearance of putty pointing.
